We caught up with one of our favorite Canadians, Bennett Slater, at this recent group show, the Art of Character. He works were displayed in Gallery 3 of CHG along with Andrew Brandou, Jim McKenzie, and Ramiro Davaro -Comas.
I was able to make it into Gallery 3 with two kids in tow and was so happy we did!! Slaters pieces had us drooling, literally, I was starving and seeing these delicious pieces only reminded my grumbling tummy. I was instantly smiling and looked around to find the artist to congratulate him on some impressive work but couldn’t find him. When I finally did, he shyly remarked he felt like hovering by his pieces would be too odd, and he wondered if people even knew who his face. I DO!! and so should you!
